French doors open directly from the living area onto the sea-facing balcony. From this vantage, you can watch the tide roll in and out across South Sands, boats drifting across the water and swimmers enjoying the sheltered bay below. The balcony itself is beautifully styled with outdoor seating — the perfect place for breakfast in the sunshine or sundowners with a glass of champagne.

The kitchen is equally impressive — sleek, beautifully finished and exceptionally well-equipped. Warm timber cabinetry and crisp white surfaces give the space a contemporary feel, while the high-spec appliances make cooking here a pleasure. The island doubles as a breakfast bar, with four Philippe Starck-designed chairs. Finishing touches include polished copper Melt pendant lights by Tom Dixon, a Dolce & Gabbana Smeg kettle and toaster, and Le Creuset crockery.

Both gorgeous double bedrooms are en-suite and have Bang & Olufsen televisions. The master bedroom is furnished with a super king-size bed, while the second twin room has the option of being joined to form a super king for flexibility to suit all guest parties. For added indulgence, fluffy robes, Dyson hairdryers and Hermes toiletries are provided.

The stunning South Hams town of Salcombe sits on the Kingsbridge Estuary along the South Devon coastline, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Known for its calm water and beautiful beaches, life centres around the water, making it a popular destination for sailing and water sport enthusiasts. And when you’re not spending time on the water, there’s plenty to see and do. The town is peppered with fabulous independent shops, boutiques, restaurants, cafes and delis. The award-winning Salcombe Gin Distillery offers visitors a gin-making experience and tasting sessions, while Salcombe Dairy offers a more family-friendly ice-cream and chocolate tasting experience. Of course, boat, kayak and paddle-board hire is plentiful, along with scuba diving experiences, guided seal walks and sailing lessons.

As part of the Harbour Beach Club, guests also have access to the hotel’s outstanding facilities which include the on-site Hampton’s-style restaurant for beachfront dining, a fitness suite and gym, a 12-metre indoor pool, relaxation room, steam room and sauna.
